Hoping for best but preparing for worst, Sherwood School District outlines deep cuts
The Sherwood School District is preparing to cut more than $6 million from its budget for the 2023-24 school year if voters do not approve an operating levy on the May 16 ballot.
District administrators laid out a grim blueprint for the reductions at a school board meeting Wednesday, April 12. Those cuts are likely to affect about 50 school staff positions, including more than 30 teachers whose positions would be reduced or outright eliminated under the proposal.
